MINNEOLA – Ross Roy Durr, 78 died January 26, 2026 at his home in Minneola.

He was born on December 21, 1947 in Dodge City, Kansas son of Robert S. and Thelma K. (Francis) Durr.

He married Thersa Moore on April 16, 1983. She was his wife and best friend for 43 years.

Ross spent most of his time fishing, tinkering and gardening. He actively participated in racing, including driving, working on the race cars and attending the races. He was also a jokester, loved giving everyone some shit. A dream of his was to make a Christmas Wonderland.

He worked at Morton Inc., JAG, Building Solutions and Dodge City Sand.

He is survived by his wife, Thersa Durr; 2 brothers, Robert L. Durr, Jetmore, Kansas and Dalmer Durr, Dodge City, Kansas; 3 sisters, Roberta Herring, Dodge City, Twila Payne and husband Dennis, Carthage, Missouri and Naomi Durr, Dodge City; 4 daughters, Crystal Haskell and husband Daniel, Minneola, Becky Morris, Russell, Kansas, Katy Lange and husband Jim and Jeannie Santos, Dodge City; several grandchildren, Kendon Haskell and fiancé Taylor Alvarez, Aspen Haskell, Quenton Smith and fiancé Taylor Adams, Haley Haskell, Dakota Durr, Skyler Durr, Tiffany Durr, Dalton, Zachery, Hannah and Nicholas Lange; great grandchildren, Brentley, Asher and Laikyn; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, step-mom, Patricia; a brother, Donald Durr; 2 sisters, Anna Dykstra and Rosemary Hammons; a niece Dena Warta and 2 great-great nephews, Knox Harris and Wyatt Raney.

Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2026 at 2:00 pm at Minnis Mortuary, Minneola with Brad Kefauver officiating. Private family inurnment will be at a later date. There will be no public viewing as cremation has taken place.

The family suggests memorials to Crystal Haskell to be used for the Ross Durr Memorial Fund in care of Minnis Mortuary, 1901 N. 14th Ave., Dodge City, Kansas 67801.
