Vae Belle Cayton

Vae Belle Cayton (née Goodrich), 91, of Vermilion, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025, at Anchor Lodge Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
Born on January 22, 1934, she spent her early years in Rosedale, WV, before making Vermilion her home for over 70 years.
Vae worked as a clerk for Fisher Big Wheel and South Shore Packing Co. She was a devoted member of the Vermilion Church of Christ and found joy in gardening and crafting heartfelt greeting cards for her loved ones.
She is survived by her daughter, Karrel (Denny) Lima; grandchildren, Jay (Sandy) Lima and Kari (John) Hricovec; and her cherished great-grandchildren, Daniel, Jackson, and Carson Lima and Jack and Kara Hricovec. She is also survived by her sisters, Vera Johnson and Vada Knicley.
Vae was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Holland J. Cayton; her son, Michael James Cayton; her daughter, Lisa Anne Cayton; parents, Ray and Madge (née Mitchell) Goodrich; and her siblings, Vivian Carr, Vona Stewart, Van Goodrich, and Vern Goodrich.
A private interment will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery in Vermilion.
