Valda Valerie Clarke

Valda Valerie Clarke, 79, of Hartford passed away, Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Born March 3, 1937 in the district of Cave Valley, St. Ann, Jamaica daughter of the late Cecil and Clementina Clarke, she was one of 11 siblings. She is survived by her children, Jacqueline F. Haughton and a son-in-law, Basil Haughton, Janice Foster, Ernesto Foster, Anise Clarke and was predeceased by Angelie Foster; her 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren; and a host of other family and friends. Valda was a loving Mother, very kind hearted despite the odds, she always put her children first. She came to the United States over 18 years ago when her health started to fade to be with her daughter Jacqueline. Her greatest wish was to die at home with loved ones by her side. She gave her life to Christ and put everything in place prior to dying, the type of funeral she wanted and who to preside over her funeral. Special thanks to the Masonic Care nurses, CCCI and Home Watch and all the wonderful caring nurses' aides who took the time to listen and care for her. She's in a better place with the angels celebrating life.
