To Valerian's family and friends: My parents sponsored Val's parents and him to come from Austria to Philadelphia, PA, where I was born in 1950. We all moved to Canton, Ohio in the fall of 1950, where our fathers found jobs and where we lived for many years in the same neighborhood. My special memory of Val was when I was two years old, I got my first doll, which looked like a cupie doll. I named my first doll "Valerick" after him. Eternal memories "Veechnayia Pampyiat"! From Christina Malanij Toney and the entire Malanij family
