It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Valerie DeBianchi, who left our world in peace on June 2nd after 35 years of suffering with Multiple Sclerosis. She was a strong and beloved wife, mother, sister, friend, philanthropist, and a memorable presence in the lives of many.
Born on August 18, 1953 in Philadelphia, PA, Valerie was the daughter of Vincent and Theresa Stango. Valerie moved to Florida in 1976, and soon after met the love of her life, Paul Victor DeBianchi. They married in September 1979, and raised two daughters, Jessica DeBianchi Rivera and Samantha LaViola. Valerie made countless contributions to her family and the Fort Lauderdale community, honored by the MS society and Humane Society for her work, activism, courage, optimism, and positive outlook on life.
Valerie enjoyed music, cooking, cheering on Florida and Philadelphia sports teams (hearing the Panthers advance to the Stanley Cup finals on the eve of her death), and traveling the world on a cruise ship. She loved pets, and loved her family, especially her six beautiful grandchildren. She was known for her sense of humor, wit, and resilience. To her grandchildren, she was most known for her meatballs and rigatoni, and her chicken cutlets with macaroni and cheese.
Valerie is survived by her husband, Paul, daughters Jessica and Samantha, and their spouses Amir and Tony, grandchildren Paul, Robert, Isabel, Domenic, Tarek, and Luca, sister Janet Deloach and her husband Glenn, sister-in-law Sandra Stango and her daughter Andrea Stango, sister-in-law Loni James and her husband Gordon, and brother-in-law Victor DeBianchi, Jr., cousins and countless loved ones, all who will forever cherish her memory. She was predeceased by her beloved brother, Vincent Stango, and know they are both now reunited and watching over us.
A funeral will be held on June 5, 2024 at 11:00am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church 4595 Bayview Drive, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33308. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the National MS Society or the Humane Society of Broward County.
The funeral mass will be livestreamed via Facebook.

I was sad to hear about Mrs. DeBianchi, who I remember through her kids at Christ Church School, the amazing family boat parade parties, and our family dinner nights at Who Song & Larry's with the mariachi band. Please know that we are keeping your family in our thoughts as you deal with this.

It is with great sadness that we learned that Val has passed away. She was such a beautiful woman, both inside and outside. She loved family and her kindness to all people was evident. And her heart was kind towards animals. She will be missed. Our condolences to the family. Jeff and Rita Mazer

Val´s and I would car pool to work everyday and she would always get on my case for running late. Fond memories of our crazy banter. Val was the sister I never had.
