Valerie D. Uhrin

Valerie D. (Cassidy) Uhrin, age 94, of East McKeesport, passed away Friday, December 13, 2024. She was born October 30, 1930 in Wilkinsburg, a daughter of the late Hugh and Margaret (McClelland) Cassidy. She was a long-time member of St. Robert Bellarmine Church in East McKeesport where she was part of the Ladies of Charity, Christian Mothers, a past CCD Principal, Eucharistic Minister, Parish Council and was a recipient of the Manifestation of the Kingdom Award from the Bishop. She worked as a Medical Secretary at UPMC Braddock Hospital for over 40 years before retiring. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Edward L. Uhrin; and brothers Hugh "Buzz" Cassidy, George Cassidy and John "Jack" Cassidy. She is survived by her children Monica (Kenneth) Swidwa of North Huntingdon and Larry (Marybeth) Erin of Monroeville; grandchildren Timothy(Melissa) Erin, Daniel (Jennifer) Erin, Matthew (Jennifer) Erin, Kristi (Alexander) Laun and Ken (Kathy) Swidwa; and great grandchildren Penelope, Jack, Calvin, Emma, Christopher and William. Friends and Family will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway, East McKeesport, 412-823-8083. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Mary Mother of God Parish, St Angela Merici Church in White Oak. Interment will follow at All Saint Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
