Van Lee Burtz, born on April 28, 1948, passed away on September 2, 2025, at the age of 77. He was a cherished member of the East Point Masonic Lodge, where he formed lasting friendships and contributed to the community. Lee was preceded in death by his beloved parents, George and Mary LaTrelle Burtz, as well as his siblings, George Albert Burtz and Mary Ellen Moon, along with her husband, Gerald Moon. Their memories remain cherished by those who survive him. He leaves behind a loving family, including his nieces and nephews: George Burtz, David Burtz, Miriam Bormann, John Burtz, LaTrelle Scherffius, Rex Moon, and Alan Moon. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Judith Burtz, and many great-nieces and great-nephews who will remember him fondly. A graveside inurnment service will be held at a later date to honor Lee's life and legacy. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
