Van Tyler Cornett, age 31 of Jefferson, NC passed away February 25, 2025. Tyler was born October 19, 1993 to Kathy Howell and the late Dwight Van Cornett.
Tyler loved his family, especially his fiancé, Tasha and his little girl, Harper. He loved riding dirt bikes, playing video games and widdling wood. He enjoyed his job and was a very talented landscaper. He loved all animals and had a big heart for them.
Those left to cherish his memories include his mother, Kathy Howell; fiancé, Natasha Roark; daughter, Harper Cornett; sister, Rianna Barker and husband Keith; brother, Adam Howell; Natasha’s parents, Trish and Allen Roark; niece, Cassandra Neaves; nephew, Chandler Barker; two great nephews; one great niece on the way; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2025 at Mountain City Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. with Pastor Jesse Ball officiating. The burial will follow the funeral at Roark Family Cemetery on Ben Bolen Road in Creston, NC. Pallbearers will be Humberto, Lonnie Phipps, Keith Barker, Chandler Barker, Allen Roark, and Matt Hartsog.
Memorial donations in Tyler's memory can be sent to Mountain City Funeral Home to assist the family with expenses.
