Jackie Cornett

Jacqueline Carol Cornett, affectionately known as Jackie, born on August 1, 1948 in Prattville, AL, passed away on January 2, 2026. Residing in Ennis, Texas for the last eight years, Jackie was a pillar of love and support to her family and community. Her compassionate heart and funny nature brought joy to all who knew her. Jackie was a woman of strength, a trait that emerged from her early life experiences and continued throughout her life. A woman who was outspoken and firm in her beliefs, she never shied away from telling it like it was. Her strength and resilience were an inspiration to all who knew her.

Jackie spent her professional life as a waitress in the food industry, working at Midlothian Donuts in Midlothian, Texas until her retirement. She was a loving mother and grandmother, with her family always being her top priority. Jackie's dedication to her family was unwavering, and her love for them knew no bounds. She was a beacon of light in the lives of her children and grandchildren, always ready to lend a supportive hand or a comforting word when needed. As Helen Keller once said, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." Jackie embodied this sentiment, touching the hearts of those she loved most.

Jackie is survived by her children; Karen (David) Foy, Glenda (Louis) Howerton, William (Mary) Joyce, Durand Cornett, Brandy (Laura) Cornett, Forrest (Brandi) Cornett; an abundance of grandchildren and great-grandchildren and her companion, Gary Brazil. She is preceded in death by her parents, Estelle and Zeby Dee Judy, and her husband, David Cornett.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation on Friday, January 9, 2026, at 6:00pm CST at the Midlothian Funeral Home. A second visitation will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 11:00am CST at the J Bar C Cowboy Church in Palmer, followed by the funeral service at 12:00pm CST. Jackie will be laid to rest at the Midlothian Cemetery at 2:00pm CST.
