Our beloved Mother and Grandmother, Vanessa Bowles departed this world unexpectedly on September 9, 2024. Vanessa was the heart of our home and family. She raised three children; Rachel, Bryce, Mryon, Jr. in a happy and loving home to be independent and thoughtful adults.
Vanessa was born October 31, 1953 to the late George and Maxine Wilhelm in Mansfield, Ohio. She was a 1972 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School. Vanessa held several jobs throughout her life retiring from Madison Local School District. Vanessa enjoyed taking care of others including children of special needs and most importantly, spending time with her children and grandchildren, going to casinos, shopping, fishing, cooking, and taking care of others.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her soulmate and late husband, Myron K. Bowles Sr., and Rufus Reid Jr.; father in law, Rufus Reid Sr., and Martha Reid Sr., and Dorothy Reid.
She is survived by her loving children, Rachel Reid of Pickerington, Ohio, Bryce Bowles (Melissa), of Toledo, Ohio and Myron K. Bowles Jr. of Mansfield, Ohio; 7 grandchildren, Shaquel Lindsay, Chance Holland, Jayce Holland, Keiriya Wallace, Makala Bowles, Krista Roy and Ahjanae Wallace; one great-grandchild, Cleopatra Cook; sister, Sandra Rittenhour (Jan) of Galion, Ohio; niece, Carrie Archer; two nephews, Brian Engler and Sam Morrison; special nieces, Torri Staples, Carla Battle, Patrice Smith and Punkin Janet Johnson, Cierra Hendrix-Harris; special nephews, Antre Reid and Corey Lang Jr.; special sisters, Martha Reid, Ola Mae Brooks and Mary Bowles Hendrix; special cousins, Anita Hails and Shannon Demoss; special friends, Teresa Leech, Tammy Crum, Mary Dulin, Patti Wallace, and Debbie Elias; special daughters, Veronica Granger, Casey Morris, Rachelle Hinklin, and Chris Missy Jones. Vanessa also leaves to cherish her memory several cousins, friends and loved ones.
Vanessa was a cherished individual known for her kind loving, caring, and humorous personality. Her departure leaves an unfillable void in our lives. We will find comfort in the memories and everlasting love we shared. She was known for her hearty laugh and kind heart. She was the heart and soul of our family, and she will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be held at Chapel of Peace, 753 Mc Pherson Street, Mansfield, Ohio 44903 on September 21st 2024. Visitation will be 1:00 PM- 2:00 PM. Funeral service will be 2:00 PM- 3:00 PM.
