Vaughn B. Johnson, a loving husband, dedicated father, and esteemed psychiatric nursing assistant, passed away peacefully on December 7, 2023, at Wellspan Good Samaritan Hospital in Lebanon, PA, at the age of 69. Born on August 23, 1954, in Duquesne, PA, Vaughn lived a life filled with compassion, resilience, and unwavering dedication to his family and the healthcare industry.
Vaughn's passion for caregiving led him to pursue a career as a psychiatric nursing assistant, where he made a profound impact on the lives of countless patients. Employed by VA Hospitals, Vaughn's commitment to serving those in need was exemplary, making him an invaluable member of the healthcare community.
Beyond his professional achievements, he enjoyed sports memorabilia and the Steelers and Pirates. Vaughn will always be remembered as a devoted family man. He cherished his beloved wife, Brenda Johnson, with whom he shared a lifetime of love and companionship.
He is survived, in addition to his wife; daughter Raven Johnson-Coates and spouse Michael, Maryland; son, Troy Eisenhauer, and spouse Tina of Lebanon, as well as his cherished grandchildren, Kalene Eisenhauer, Ethan Eisenhauer, and Cory Adams Jr., all of Lebanon. The arrival of his great-grandchildren, Cole and Ivy, brought him immeasurable joy.
Vaughn shared a deep bond with his brother, Mark Johnson, and his brother Lorenzo York, his sister-in-law, Demetria York, and sister, Lois Riley. He was preceded in death by son Cory Adams Sr.
Before his passing, Vaughn proudly served his country as a member of the Navy, honorably discharged on October 17, 1977.
A graveside service to celebrate Vaughn's life will take place at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery on December 13, 2023, at 12:30 pm. Prior to the service, a public viewing will be held at Christman's Funeral Home, Inc., from 9:30-11:30 am on the same day.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Vaughn's name to any VA Hospital.
