“My mother was all about family and loved to feed everyone who would allow her to serve them. She rarely let anyone else pay for her anything and usually paid for their dinner, gas etc. so she was never a burden to any of us. She was so tender hearted and loved deeply and was my best travel buddy a girl could ask for after my father passed away in 2007!”- Desiree Steffen
"Mom spent her life putting others first. Her joy came from seeing others thrive, and she never asked for anything in return.
A favorite saying of hers, often shared with a smile when she was tired but didn’t want to slow anyone down, was: 'Just park me under a tree.' That phrase became our family motto, spoken whenever we needed a rest but didn’t want to be a burden. It captured her essence perfectly—practical, witty, and deeply unselfish. We will miss you mom."- Greg Martz
