Stephen Martz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Herrington/Land of Memory Funeral Home on Mar. 20, 2026.
Stephen Anthony Martz, known lovingly to those closest to him as "Bubbles," was born on June 5, 2005, in Goshen, Indiana. He passed away on March 17, 2026, far too soon, leaving behind a community of people whose lives were made better simply by knowing him.

Stephen had a gift for connection. He never knew a stranger, and his generosity showed up in the most practical and meaningful ways. He would stop for stranded motorists without a second thought, tow people to safety, and pay for their gas out of his own pocket. That was just who he was.

He had a great sense of humor and a mischievous streak that kept everyone on their toes. Whether he was pulling a prank or cracking a joke, he had a way of filling a room with laughter.

He had a deep love for motorcycles, cars, and ran his own lawn care business with pride. Animals were drawn to him as naturally as people were. And of all the people in his world, his brother Christopher held a special place in his heart.

Stephen is survived by his parents, Robert Allen Martz and Sherry Angela Martz; his grandmother, Susan Amelia Martz; his sisters, Kristy Burmeister and Angela Martz; and his brothers, Tyler Martz and Christopher Martz.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, William Robert Martz.

A celebration of Stephen's life will be held on Monday, March 23rd 2026, at Lakeview Methodist Conference Center, located at 400 Private Road 6036, Palestine, Texas, beginning at 11:00 AM around the firepit near Lake Lemon. A graveside service will follow at the nearby Texas Methodist Conference Cemetery under the direction of Herrington's. A meal will be provided at the Lakeview Methodist Conference Center Cafeteria around noon.

Stephen will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
