Veletta Beckham Obituary
She worked as an Administative Secretary Sr. with the State of Kentucky before retiring from the Cabinet for Economic Development in 2001.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Ronald W. Tinsley Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory a son, William Timothy "Tim" (Mika) Beckham of Pensacola, Florida; a daughter, Monique Vontress "Tress" Beckham of Lexington, Kentucky; grandchildren, Kenneth "Ken" Williams of Lithonia, Georgia, Iman Nicole Beckham of Lithonia, Georgia, Tyler Mackenzie Beckham, Sean Kemelle Beckham, Savannah Camille Beckham and Darrick Amier Beckham all of Lexington, Kentucky, Crystal Beckham, Kieira Beckham and Blake Beckham all of Pensacola, Flordia; Siblings, Lee Owen Tinsley of Shelbyville, Barbara L. Terry, Virgia Green, Darlene Johnson; one Aunt Georgia L. Stone and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Association, Alzheimer's Association (Bluegrass Area) and Hospice of Kentucky in Jean's honor.
Funeral Saturday, December 6, 2025 at First Baptist Church, 100 Clinton Street, Frankfort, Kentucky at 11:00 am. Burial at Calvary Cemetery, 7th Street, Shelbyville, Kentucky. Fender Funeral Directors in charge of arrangements.

Earlier today
I remember Jean as one of the greatest assets the Kentucky Cabinet for Economic Development ever had. She represented, at all times, the embodiment of professionalism, kindness and reliability, both to her fellow employees, as well as to the citizens she worked diligently to serve. I was fortunate to have been associated with her as a co-worker and as a friend.
