Velma Jean Land, a beloved soul whose warmth inspired everyone she encountered, gently departed from this world on September 16, 2025. Born on December 23, 1944, she graced us with 80 beautiful years, during which she created a legacy filled with love, kindness, and cherished memories.

Velma's presence lit up every room. She had an innate ability to make others feel welcomed and valued, often extending her boundless compassion to friends, family, and strangers alike. Her laughter, a melody to those who knew her, could lift spirits and soothe souls. Velma was not just a friend; she was a confidante, a mentor, and a guiding light for many throughout her life.

A Wake Service will be held in her honor at Golden Gate Funeral Home-Dallas JOHN in Dallas, Texas on September 26, 2025, starting at 6:00 PM, followed by the service concluding at 7:00 PM. This gathering will serve as a moment of reflection, allowing all touched by Velma's spirit to come together in remembrance, sharing the stories and memories that will keep her legacy alive.

Though she may have left this earth, Velma Jean Land’s spirit will continue to guide us.
