Caribou- Velma D. (Cook) (Peterson) St. Peter, passed away on January 15, 2026 at her home surrounded by family. Velma was born December 25, 1938 to Prudence (Haney) and Lewis Cook.

She married Gary St. Peter, the love of her life March 1, 1990. They made their life in Caribou, where Velma tended to beautiful flower and vegetable gardens. Her family was the center of her world.

She is survived by husband, Gary; son, Leigh Peterson and wife Cindy of Limestone, ME; step-son Gary St. Peter Jr. and wife Wanda of Corinth, ME; grandchildren, Sarah (Peterson) Webster and husband Jason of Derby Line, VT; Jared St. Peter and partner, William of Connecticut, Matthew Peterson and wife Annie of Caribou, ME; Jacob St. Peter and wife Katrina of Corinth, ME; Ryan St. Peter of Corinth, ME; and step-granddaughter, Jessica Collin and husband Ronald of Fort Kent, ME. In addition to her 6 grandchildren, she was blessed with 7 great-grandsons and 1 great-granddaughter. She also leaves behind her sisters, Lenora (Cook) Sargent and husband, Charles of Illinois, and Charlotte (Cook) Joye and husband, Chuck of South Carolina.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Sirena (Peterson) Whitten; her sisters, Nellie (Cook) Hedman, Ola (Cook) Hedstrom, and brother, Alvry Cook.

Velma made those around her feel loved and respected. She will be missed by all who knew her. It was Velma's wishes not to have any services. Those who wish to remember her may consider making donations in her name to Northern Light Hospice family, Aroostook House of Comfort or an organization of their choice.
