Mrs. Venice Vester Campbell Sage, 88, passed away on Monday November 3, 2025, at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home. She was born on December 26, 1936, in West Jefferson, NC to the late Huges Campbell and Lucille Weaver Campbell. Venice worked at RJ Reynolds at Whitaker Park in Quality Control for 10 years. She was a longtime member of Woodland Baptist Church. Venice enjoyed reading; especially the Bible and she also enjoyed shopping. She lived between King and Myrtle Beach for many years and loved being at the beach. Venice was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be missed by all who knew her. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Janice Miller, three brothers; Harold Gene “Sonny” Campbell, Ronnie Campbell, and Michael Campbell, one stepson, Tony (Carolyn) Sage, and two brothers-in-law; James Hartness and Reggie Miller. Venice is survived by her loving husband of 39 years, Harold R. Sage, four children; Carolyn Osborne, Norma West (Bill), Howard Osborne (Linda), and Douglas Osborne, ten grandchildren; Patrick Dezern, Hannah Dezern, Candice Patrick, Derrick West, Kendall Sage, Chad Sage, Laura Melvin (Andy), Allen Osborne, John-Paul Osborne, and Allen Tuttle, six great-grandchildren; Trinity Hayes, Jade Jenkins, Blake, Elizabeth, and Amelia Melvin, and Sephira Sage, five sisters; Reva Hartness, Mary Rash, Linda Galloway, Barbara Gregory (Larry) and Naomi Miller, and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday November 6, 2025, at Hayworth-Miller Rural Hall Chapel with Pastor Greg Hall officiating. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Ashelawn Memorial Chapel & Gardens at a later date.
