Venita Anne Saunders

Venita Anne ("Vee") Young Saunders, born January 11, 1937, peacefully entered eternal rest on November 12, 2025, at the age of 88, in Clermont, Florida.
Venita was the youngest of five children born to Irene Dorothy Webster Young Hunter and Harry Young. She spent most of her youth in New Brighton, PA, Beaver Falls, PA, and Wilmington, DE. On June 9, 1957, she married William L. Saunders, and together they, lovingly, raised four children: Shari, June, Barbara, and William Jr. in Queens, New York.
Throughout her life, Venita held various positions in retail and as a secretary before earning her Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) degree from Central School of Nursing in 1968. She devoted many years to caring for others at Queens General Hospital, Fairview Nursing Home, both in New York and Good Samaritan in Florida.
After retiring, Venita found joy and purpose as a member of the Ladies' Club of Kissimmee. She was celebrated for her leadership in developing a community park and was featured in the local newspaper for her dedication to community improvement. Venita worked tirelessly with the Ladies' Club to raise funds for youth scholarships, organizing fashion shows and other events that brought people together for a cause.
Venita and her husband also forged a meaningful partnership with the Polk County Sheriff's Office, serving as Citizen Watch volunteers and helping to keep their neighborhood safe.
Venita was predeceased by her beloved husband, Bill, in 2014. She is survived by her daughters, Shari Saunders (Clermont, FL), June Saunders Grayson (Marietta, GA), Barbara Saunders (Clermont, FL); her son, William Saunders Jr. (Aysha) (New Rochelle, NY); Son-in Law, Warren Grayson (Marietta, GA), grandchildren Wesley Grayson (Alexandra) (Atlanta, GA), Bradley Grayson (Erika) (Milton, GA), Armani Saunders (Kaitlyn) (New Rochelle, NY) Cohl Saunders (New Rochelle, NY) Zoe Saunders (Los Angeles, CA); great-grandsons Bryce Grayson, Sol Saunders; niece Yolande Young; nephews Kevin Ryan, Ronald Saunders, Meldron Young; and a host of cherished family and friends.
Venita's legacy of kindness, service, and love will live on in all who knew her.
