Vera Nicholls Boseman

Vera Nicholls Boseman formerly of Washington, North Carolina and resided in Bath, went to heaven Thursday February 11th, at 11:09 am from her home. A memorial service will be held Sunday February 14th at 5:00 pm at Harvest Church, located at 2020 W 15th Street Washington, NC 27889. She was married to Reed Boseman of Bath, North Carolina for 34 years. She is the daughter of Jehu Nicholls Jr., and Joan Harrell Nicholls. Vera has three other siblings: Gayle Watson Hager with spouse Paul Hager; Jehu Nicholls lll (Jay) deceased, with spouse Laura Nicholls; and Kimberly Morris Nicholls (Kim) with spouse Paula Nicholls. She leaves behind two children Jessi Boseman Byars with spouse Jay Byars, and Dustin Montana Boseman, and Diesel the black lab that walked her around the yard everyday. Reed and Vera met at a house church formerly held at Alice and Bill Boseman's residence in Bath, NC. Within a few short weeks, they were dating and 6 months later they became husband and wife. Soon after, Reed and Vera moved to San Antonio, Texas where they lived for 10 years in the home they built for themselves. They moved back to North Carolina when Jessi was two years old so she could be raised around family. Vera was a graduate of East Carolina University with a double major in French and Spanish. She began working at Ward & Smith Law firm in New Bern for a few years before she and Reed began The Shutter Factory Inc., in 1999. Finishing up her career path, she decided to take on the role of a Spanish teacher at Northside High School. Vera was a devoted and loving teacher to her students where she felt like she was a "mom to many". She would come home every night talking about her love for each student and would call them by name. She spent more time grading papers and writing lesson plans than cooking dinner for herself. A few years later, because of her health issues, she decided it was time for her to retire. Most everyone remembers Vera as a woman of faith who was always so positive and radiated light. She never let the circumstances of life get her down. She loved everyone she came into contact with and would use her last breath to lend a helping hand. For the 60 years she graced this earth, she impacted many lives that she was a part of and will be remembered dearly.
