Vera Mae Huffman

Vera Mae Huffman, 95, of Canary Lane, died Friday, April 4, 2025, at UPMC Jameson Hospital in New Castle. She was born in Corry, PA, on May 6, 1929, the daughter of the late Robert and Opal (Pier) Purdy. She was married to the late Cecil F. Huffman, who died December of 1994. Mrs. Huffman was a master pie baker and loved flower gardening and animals. Above all, she loved taking care of her family.

She is survived by four children, Marjorie Hoover of Indiana, PA, Linda Pentz of Ft. Pierce, FL, Larry Huffman and his wife Martha of Edinburg, PA, and Walter Huffman of West Field, NY, fourteen grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and a number of great great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by one daughter, Vera Proper, one great-great-granddaughter, Sharon LeeAnn Patrick, and one sister, Helen VanCise.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2025, from 2 PM to 4 PM at the William F. & Roger M. DeCarbo Funeral Home, 926 Cunningham Avenue. Funeral services will be celebrated Wednesday, April 9, 2025, at 4:00 PM, at the William F. DeCarbo Memorial Chapel. Rev. Matthew Bupp will officiate.
