Winnie "Vera" Jackson, 85, of Danville, Alabama passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. Visitation will be from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Lawrence Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 2:00 PM on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Lawrence Funeral Home with Bro. Mike Jackson and Charles Williams officiating. Burial will be at Shiloh Cemetery.
Born on October 19, 1939, to Jody Cooper and Para Lee Childers, Vera loved quilting, cooking for her family, and singing. Most of all Vera loved her children and grandchildren, reading her Bible, and attending church.
Survivors include her husband of 64 years, Dennis Jackson; children, Mike (Betty) Jackson, Rhonda Jackson (Brian), Darryl Jackson, Donna Jackson (Scott), and Jason (Paige) Jackson; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, that loved her very much; sister, Frances (Joe) McCarrick; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Jody and Para Lee Cooper; son, Steve Jackson; brothers, Cecil Cooper, JC Cooper, and Bobby Ray Cooper; sisters, Odean Hagood and Lee Ella Randolph.
Pallbearers will be Mike Jackson, Darryl Jackson, Jason Jackson, Chris Jackson, Ian Jackson, Brian Pearson, and Zach Borden.
Honorary Pallbearer is Arron Jr. Cummings.
The family extends special thanks to Hospice of the Valley, Centerwell Home Health, and Wendell and Melissa England.
