Ms. Verdell Yvonne Richardson Hinnant

Ms. Verdell Yvonne Richardson Hinnant, sun rose on February 15, 1968, at Johnston Memorial Hospital in Smithfield, NC by Vertes and Betty Richardson. She entered her eternal rest on October 11th 2025.

Verdell was a class of 86' graduate of Smithfield Selma Senior High School. She was a three-star athlete, competing in Basketball, Track and Volleyball. She attended Louisburg College where she played basketball (which is where she met the love of her life, Mickey Hinnant), she later received her associate degree at Tiffin University.

Verdell was united in marriage to Matthew "Mickey" Hinnant. They raised two daughters, Lamisha Richardson (DJ) and Vernessa Hinnant (LaQuan), and three boys, Mr. VCR Poker, Pepper and the late Blue.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Richardson, sister Felicia Warren and brother, James Lee Robertson.

She leaves to cherish her memory her siblings, Vivian Willaims (Alan), Vertes Richardson Jr., Michael Richardson, Priscilla Richardson (Waldo), special sister Belinda White (Ronney), special brother (Tony Watson), Treymane, Charles, Christopher, Fredrick, Bobby and Shoreice Richardson. She also leaves behind four grandchildren, Eyonna, Jovanny, Juliana, and Destiny and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Funeral Services: Friday October 24, 2025, at the Wilson's Mills Baptist Church 652 Swift Creek Rd., Smithfield, NC., @12:30pm. Viewing from 12:00 noon until 12:30pm.
