Verna Jane Janisch, age 78 of Janesville, Wis., passed away on Thursday, October 16, 2025, at Rock Haven. She was born on February 25, 1947, in Bloom City, Richland County, Wis., the daughter of Robert and Zona (Johnson) Steinmetz. She graduated from Parkview High School in Orfordville, Wis.
Verna married Harley Janisch on February 12, 1972. She was employed as a certified nurse’s aide in various health care facilities in the Janesville area and retired from Cedar Crest. Verna was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Verna is survived by her husband, Harley Janisch of Janesville; three sisters, Christine (Scott) Horne of Springfield, IL., Dr. Judy Johnson of Fishersville, VA, and Maxine Steinmetz of Janesville; along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Karen Reid.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, October 25, 2025, at OUR SAVIOR LUTHERAN CHURCH, Janesville with Pastor Rick Sears officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, October 25th from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the Church. Burial will be at a later date in Bethel Cemetery, Center Township. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
