Verna Dean Steverson, age 93, passed from this life on November 21, 2025. She was a wonderfully loving and selfless woman whose life was defined by compassion, strength, and a deep commitment to serving others. Verna devoted herself to helping those around her, raising not only her own children but many others who found comfort, guidance, and a safe place in her home. She carried a steadfast love for the Lord and was a faithful member of the Church of Christ, living out her faith with humility and grace.
A true master of all trades, Verna was resourceful, determined, and endlessly talented. She made history as the first female broker in the state of Tennessee, paving the way for countless women in Tennessee and across the United States. Through her drive and determination, she opened doors for future generations, especially in her beloved communities of Kingston Springs, Dickson, and Waverly. Real estate was more than a profession to her; she genuinely loved helping people find homes and build their lives in places they could feel proud of. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to own and operate several businesses throughout her lifetime, including a welcoming hair salon. She even served as president of a music record label in Nashville, reflecting her versatility and fearless pursuit of new opportunities.
Above all her accomplishments, Verna loved her family dearly. She cherished every moment spent with them, doing for them, supporting them, and being present with them throughout her remarkable 93 years. Her family was her greatest joy, and she poured her heart into creating a life filled with care, connection, and unforgettable memories.
Known for her warm hospitality and her skill in the kitchen, Verna could turn any meal into a moment of comfort and connection. In her peaceful moments, she enjoyed playing solitaire, a simple pleasure that brought her joy. Above all, she was a woman whose kindness, generosity, and strong spirit made a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
Verna will be missed dearly. Her legacy of love, resilience, and service will continue to live on in the many lives she touched.
