Vernetta Buseman

Vernetta Buseman, 82, of Corsica and formerly of Canistota passed away on Feb. 9th at the Good Samaritan Center in Corsica. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday Feb. 17th at 2 pm at the Walter's Funeral Chapel in Marion. Vistation will begin at 1 pm at the chapel prior to the Funeral Service.

Vernetta Buseman was born on July 21st, 1939 on a rural farm between Canistota and Marion to George Buseman, Sr. and Florence (DeBoer) Buseman. She attended country school and then attended Bridgewater and Canistota High School. After graduation, she then attended college at Freeman Junior College for two years, obtaining her teacher's certificate. After graduation from college, she soon developed Schizophrenia and was incapacitated where she needed to spend much of her life in the hospital and nursing home.

Vernetta was a member of Spring Valley Baptist church where she sang and played the piano. She was a good soloist and piano player before she became sick. She accepted Jesus as her savior when she was quite young.

Vernetta is survived by her brother George (Kathy) Buseman of Marion as well as several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by he parents, and sister Caroline and husband Melvin Lubbers.
