With heavy hearts and enduring memories, we announce the passing of Vernetta Turpin Dale on June 26, 2025, at the age of 85.

She was born on December 25, 1939, in Paris, KY, Vernetta was a woman of warmth and compassion throughout her lifetime.

Her journey began as the daughter of Leonard Turpin, Sr. and Sarah Adair Turpin. Her early years in Paris shaped her into a woman of fortitude and unwavering faith. She graduated from Western High School in Paris, KY, and was embraced by a community that adored her kind and loving spirit. Vernetta's legacy further flourished with her marriage to the late Willie E. Dale, Sr., and together they were blessed with an abundant family.

The matriarch of her family, Vernetta is survived by her loving children, Willie (Brenda) Dale, Jr., Philip Dale, Kevin Dale, Valerie Kenney, and Violet Shearer. She was the cherished grandmother to Steven, Anthony, Philip Jr., Michael, Austin, Sawyer, Courtney, D'Quez, Shauntae, Jarrin, Cassandra (TJ), Everett, Kevonna, and Peyton. Her life was also blessed with a multitude of great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, each holding a unique place in her heart. Vernetta's warmth will be missed by her sister Joanne Black, brother Henry Turpin, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Vernetta was preceded in death by her husband Willie, her parents Leonard and Sarah Turpin, her grandson Dougie, her siblings Carolyn, Tillie, Linnie, Rose, George Earl, James, and Leonard Jr., as well as other dear family members.

Vernetta retired as a professional cook from Marriott Griffin Gate, leaving a legacy of tasteful memories. Her devotion extended to her spiritual congregation as a faithful member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. Vernetta poured much love into her interests, which included first and foremost her diligent efforts in the ministry, and also her love for cooking, baking, and music. She was renowned for her delectable pies, cakes, and homemade candy. Music brought joy to her life, whether it was listening to oldies or the Kingdom Melodies.

Those who knew Vernetta remember her as an unwavering source of strength and guidance for her family and for anyone around her. She was the embodiment of kindness, with a special gift for nurturing those in need.

Vernetta's absence will be felt deeply, but the beauty of her spirit will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her. Her life's abundance of faith, love, and kindness will remain an enduring legacy for her family and community. As we bid farewell to Vernetta Turpin Dale, we celebrate a life well-lived, a woman well-loved, and a faith well-kept.
