Vernice is survived by two loving daughters, Deborah Cofield of Norfolk and Linda McNeal (Michael) of Chesapeake; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Peggy Ann Midgette of Norfolk; two brothers, Harvey Eggleston and Floyd Eggleston, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Vernice spent her last days trying to hold onto the memories she shared with all of her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Sending my heartfelt condolences to the Midgette family. I´ve known Mrs. Midgette for almost 30 years and found myself calling her "granny" as she was affectionately called by her grandchildren. She always had great advice and words of encouragement. She will be truly missed.
