Vernon Fredrick Albrecht

Vernon Fredrick Albrecht was born August 5, 1937, on the family farm Northeast of Atkinson, Holt County, Nebraska, to Henry Albrecht and Amelia (Bork) Albrecht. He was the youngest of nine children. Vernon was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church, in Atkinson, Nebraska. He attended District #147 grade school through 8th grade and Atkinson High School in Atkinson, where he lettered in football and graduated with honors in 1955.

Vernon and his brother John launched into farming, ranching and milking cows, after John was discharged from the service in 1957. Their pride and joy was raising good crops and building their Black Angus herd with long hours and hard work. As a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church Vernon served as Treasurer, and as an Elder.

Vernon is survived by his sister, Martha Hoxie, sister-in-law Betty Albrecht, special niece Elisha Albrecht and her fiancé Todd Miller.

Vernon was preceded in death by his three brothers, Harold, Edward, John and his four sisters Alvina, Mina Lammert, Dorothy Gaylord, Hilda Lehl, brother-in-law Wayne Hoxie, Bill Lehl, nephews Bruce Hoxie, Kevin Lehl and Richard (Dick) Albrecht.
