Vernon A. Barrows Jr., 83, of the Villages, FL, formerly of Norfolk, MA passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025. He was born and raised in Mendon, MA the son of Vernon A Barrows Sr and Emma Taft Barrows.

He was a 1960 graduate of Mendon High School. He held degrees in Civil engineering from Wentworth Institute of Technology and Northeastern University. He had a long career in the construction industry specializing in bridge construction. He founded and owned B & E Construction Inc for over 30 years prior to his retirement.

He especially loved spending time on the Great Sacandaga Lake in Edinburg, NY where he had a lake home for 54 years. He was an avid boating and snowmobiling enthusiast. Vern was a skilled craftsman, making furniture and cabinetry for family and friends.During his retirement years, Vern enjoyed traveling, the FL sunshine and spending time on the golf course.

He is survived by his wife of 14 years Carol Barrows of the Villages FL, Two sons, Glenn Barrows and his wife Karla, William and his wife Maureen, two granddaughters, Elina and Susan Barrows all of Upton, MA. And two sisters, Beverly White and Susan Ober both of Mendon, MA. He was predeceased by his wife of 36 years, Susan M. Barrows in 2004.

Services will be held at the BUMA-SARGEANT Funeral Home, 42 Congress Street, Milford, Massachusetts at a time to be announced.
