Vernon Lawrence "Larry" Berwick was born on January 28, 1941, in Gladewater, Texas to Arthur and Aletha Berwick. He passed away on September 1, 2024, at his home in White Oak, surrounded by his family. There will be a Memorial Mass recited at 11 AM Friday, September 6, at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Union Grove. Cremation arrangements are with Rader Funeral Home of Longview.
Larry was a 1960 graduate of Longview High School. He joined the Army in 1963 and went to basic training at Ft. Hood, and advanced training at Ft. Eustice. Larry proudly served his country in Goose Bay, Labrador & Sandstorm, Greenland before his honorable discharge in 1966. He loved fishing and hunting, watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers, and was always ready to tell a good joke. He will be remembered as the ultimate supervisor for family projects, but most importantly, he loved spending time with his grandkids.
Preceding Larry in death were his parents; his wife, Jan Berwick; grandson, Aidan Berwick; and a brother, Arthur "Art" Berwick, Jr.
Those left to cherish his memory are his children and their spouses and families: daughter, Terry and Ricky Adkison and their children Brittany and Zachary; son, Ben Berwick and his children Anabelle, Ben and Harrison; daughter, Lisa and Ronnie Peery and their children Steven and Jessica; daughter, Debbie and Bryce Scofield and their children Shaun, Braden and Rebecca; and son, Michael and Gabby Berwick and their children Chase and Kenzie. He is also survived by his siblings and their families: sister, Sylvia and Randy Mobley and their children Heather and Laurie; sister, Charlotte and Kenneth Hensley and their children Kelly and Leigh; and his brother, John Berwick and his children Aaron and Holly.
A memorial guestbook may be signed online at www.raderfh.com.
