Vernon Amos Bordes, age 43, entered eternal rest on January 9, 2026, in
Garland, Texas. Born on September 28, 1982, in
New Orleans, Louisiana, Vernon was a man known for his loving heart, resilience, and determination to grow. His church environment deeply connected him from a young age, where he formed lifelong bonds and found guidance that shaped his journey. Vernon faced challenges in life, yet he never stopped striving to become better-for himself, his family, and those who loved him. He was especially proud of working his way up to manager at a local restaurant in Texas, a reflection of his determination and strong work ethic. Above all, Vernon loved deeply. He was a devoted husband, a proud father of five children, a fun-loving, protective grandfather, a cherished brother, a beloved godson, and a TRUE SAINTS FAN! His warmth, humor, and sincerity left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Vernon's memory will live on through the many lives he touched and the love he shared so freely. Vernon leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife and soulmate, Amy Bordes; his five children, Davon, Javon, and Vera Bordes, Yiana Thomas, and Grayson Harvey; stepchildren, Dakota, Gabrielle, and Daisy Houston; grandchildren, Anthony Jerome Bordes, Kri'celle, Ka'ron, and Ky'on Bynum; sisters, Darlene and Wylita Bordes, Tomeka Bush-Ruffin (Karton), and Irianne Williams; one brother, Larry Williams (Jimmimonic); brother-in-law, Aaron Smith, sisters-in-law, Susan Smith, Ann Johnson (Brian), and Becky Brubach (Hunk), and his godfather, Brian Young.
