Vern, you were a great friend, grandpa to our boys and a wonderful brother in Christ. I loved our talks about Jesus. Our family truly misses you. I am glad your our with our Lord and Savior. I looked forward to seeing you again some day.

Vern,
You will always hold a special place in my heart. You were a great friend, wonderful grandpa to the boys, and all around wonderful Christian man. I loved our talks about Jesus and your jokes. You will be greatly missed, but I know you are dancing with our Lord Jesus!

To the Family of Mr. Vernon O. Christiansen,
The membership of American Legion Post #234 in Hart, Michigan, would like to share our deepest sympathy with your family on your loss. Mr. Christiansen's service to our country during World War II in what has come to be known as The Greatest Generation makes him a hero as far as we're concerned and certainly you're very proud of him, too. We want you to know that his brothers and sisters in arms now share in your grief.
