Vernon Irwin Obituary
Vernon Gerald Irwin, 71 of rural Galion passed away on Thursday March 5, 2026 at home following a lengthy illness. Vernon was born April 3, 1954, in Marion, Ohio to the late Charles and Edna (Robinson) Irwin. He was married September 1, 1973, to Karen (Moorman) Irwin who survives.
Vernon is also survived by children Shawn (Michelle) Collene of Tiffin, Stacia Irwin of Colorado, Charles (Amber) Irwin of Florida, Shayd Irwin of Galion; grandchildren Cheyenne, Dallas, Bailey, Dustin, Destinee, Chance, Elsyann, and Allisun; 11 great grandchildren; brothers Charles Harold (Patricia) Irwin of Florida and Edward Farrell (Geri) Irwin of N. Carolina; as well as father and mother in law Don and Mary Moorman of Galion.
Vernon lived in Bucyrus until 1981 when he and Karen moved to Colorado for 42 years before moving back to the Galion area in 2017. While living in Colorado they were Foster Parents for 10 years.
Vernon was an over the road truck driver for many years and enjoyed Harley Davidson trips with his friends, woodworking, hunting, fishing, and camping. Vernon had a good sense of humor and big heart and personality.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date and Affordable Cremation Services of Ohio is assisting the family with arrangements. Expressions of sympathy can be left at www.cremationservicesofohio.com.
