Vernon Donald McKee

Vernon Donald McKee, age 71, of West Rutland, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 24, 2025.
He was born April 21, 1954, in Glens Falls, NY, his parents were father Donald McKee and mother Edith McKee.
Vernon cherished the peace of fishing and hunting, as well as the pleasures of finding the best deals at Habitat for Humanity. Vernon held pride for his work ethic throughout his years and service at General Electric. Vernon was known by family and his friends for having a quick sense of humor and could crack a joke that could make anyone laugh.
Vernon is survived by his loving and nurturing wife, Sharon McKee; his adored dog Sabel, his beloved daughters, Maxi Dillon, Sarah Graham and Erin Mohr; two step-sons, James Ayotte and Jacky Ayotte; 13 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and six siblings.
God looked around His garden
And found an empty place.
He then looked down upon the earth
And saw your loving face.
He put His arms around you
And lifted you to rest.
God's garden must be beautiful-
He always takes the best.
He knew that you were suffering;
He knew you were in pain.
He knew that you would never
Get well on earth again.
He saw the road was getting rough
And the hills were hard to climb.
So He closed your weary eyelids
And whispered, "Peace be thine."
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone-
For part of us went with you
The day God called you home.
