Vernon Patterson Obituary
Vernon will be remembered as a man who found joy in simple pleasures and shared that joy with everyone around him. He had a true passion for auctions, where he enjoyed not only the thrill of buying and selling but also the stories and history behind each item. A devoted collector of antiques, Vernon cherished the craftsmanship of the past and took pride in preserving those treasures.
Above all, Vernon loved his family deeply. He was happiest when surrounded by loved ones, whether at family gatherings, cookouts, or quiet evenings together. Friends and family will always remember his love for cooking and grilling, where he brought people together with good food, laughter, and warm conversation.
Vernon's life was filled with kindness, generosity, and a genuine love for the people around him. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
Vernon is survived by his parents Martha Diane Patterson, Vernon Ray Patterson (Joyce); sister, Tina Schweyer (Doug); brothers, Richard Patterson (Wanda), James Patterson (Jessica), Michael Proctor; and several aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park with Rev. Jacob Dean officiating.
Flowers are welcome.
