VERNON ODELL POLK WAS BORN JANUARY 26,1954 TO THE LATE BILLIE POLK AND CHERRIE LEE EDISON POLK. HE WAS THE THIRD CHILD BORN INTO THIS UNION.
HE WAS BAPTIZED AT AN EARLY AGE BY REV. R. H. PAIGE AND ATTENDED VINEGROVE CHRISTIAN CHURCH. HE ATTENDED PUBLIC SCHOOL IN VAN VLECK, TEXAS AND GRADUATED WITH THE CLASS OF 1972. HE ALSO ATTENDED COLLEGE AT PALO VERDES JR COLLEGE IN BLYTHE, CALIFORNIA AND WHARTON JR COLLEGE. HE EXCELLED IN FOOTBALL AND BASKETBALL ALONG WITH HIS ALL-TIME FAVORITE BASEBALL WITH "SCHLITZ BULLS "AKA"BULLS
VERNON MET ROSIE LAWS WHILE EMPLOYED AT BRAZORIA COUNTY YOUTH HOME IN OYSTER CREEK, TX. IN 2002. IT BECAME A LOVING AND LASTING RELATIONSHIP. THEY ENJOYED EACH OTHER'S LAUGHTER, TRAVELING AND SPENDING TIME WITH FAMILY AND FRIENDS. IN THIS UNION THEY WERE BLESSED TO HAVE SIX CHILDREN,17 GRANDS AND 3 GREAT GRANDS. THEY WERE THE LIFE OF THE PARTY THAT NEVER MET STRANGERS.
HE LEAVES TO MOURN A LOVING AND DEVOTED WIFE OF 21 YRS, FOUR DAUGHTERS, DILIA (KERWIN),OF BAY CITY; TARRCHELLE SMITH (DUANTE), OF ANGLETON; LATOYIA LAWS AND ANDREA WILLIAMS (JOHNNIE), OF DEERPARK; TWO SONS, SHAWN FRANKLIN (TOMMIE), OF RICHMOND AND JYNQUAY LAWS (BRITNEY), OF ANGLETON.
