Vernon G. Roxas

Vernon Guevara Roxas, age 7, cherished son of Venus and Jacqueline, adored brother of Javen; dear grandson of Victorino (Aurea) and Leonido (Theresa); beloved nephew of Arvic (Ehmie), Boyee (Ana), Violeta "Ning" (Darren), Richard (Lenny), Joan, John and James and favorite cousin of Stephen, Cheska, Adam and Victoria and a best friend of Bryce.

My first-born son, Vernon Guevara Roxas, was born on January 25th, 2019, in Elmhurst, Illinois. He is such a precious, brave, strong, and courageous boy-obedient, kind-hearted, compassionate, and an upbeat seven-year-old who refuses to let a brain tumor dim his bright smile. He is smart, adventurous, and most importantly, a loving brother to his sibling Javen. He's the pride of his mom and dad, a nephew to his uncle and aunt, a grandson to Inay and Tatay-whom he lovingly calls his grandparents-plus a cousin and friend to many. Everyone falls in love with his bright dark brown eyes, long black lashes, well-defined eyebrows, and his sleek, healthy, luscious hair. Whenever his hair gets longer, he eagerly asks his dad when the next appointment will be-that's how disciplined Vernon is when it comes to his schedule. He loves riding his blue Strider pedal bicycle-he learned how to pedal quickly and is a fast learner. His favorite pastime is driving his red electric Corvette, playing with miniature airplanes and cars, and watching airplanes in the sky or near airports. He was reading at the age of three, and his preschool, kindergarten, and first-grade teachers have been amazed at how advanced he is in that area. He also knows all about the planets, car logos and brands, and all 50 states of the United States-he can even identify a state just by its shape. This is my Vernon-these are just a few of the many amazing things that make him who he is. If you ever get the chance to meet him, you'll remember him as if you've known him your entire life. There's a comfort and genuine connection, a positive and inspiring energy that makes everyone feel better when they're around him. I love you so much, Vernon! You'll always hold a special place in my heart. I cherish all the memories we've made together, my love. Until we meet again my angel-in God's grace-in Jesus name, amen.

Visitation Thursday, February 12th and Friday February 13th, 3:00 pm - 9:00 pm both days at Colonial Wojciechowski Funeral Home 8025 W. Golf Rd. Niles, IL. A prayer service will be held at the funeral home, 7:00 pm on Thursday and a mass will be held on Friday at 7:00 pm at the funeral home. A rosary will be said on both days at 6:00 pm. Funeral Saturday, February 14th, beginning with 9:30 am prayers at the funeral home and procession to St. Zachary Church. Mass 10:30 am. Interment All Saints Cemetery.
