VERNON SIGMAN Obituary

SIGMAN, Vernon R., 74, died at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, S.C., on August 20, 2009. He partici-pated in the Uniform Anatomical Gift Program of the Medical University of South Carolina. Remains were interred with military honors at Quantico National Cemetery on November 9, 2009. Born in Lincolnton, N.C., Mr. Sigman was a graduate of Newberry College, Newberry, S.C., and attended the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Columbia, S.C. Following military service with the United States Marine Corps, Mr. Sigman was employed by the Department of Personnel, Commonwealth of Virginia, in Richmond. Survivors include two brothers in South Carolina and one sister in Virginia. Mr. Sigman was married to Nona Wartella of Petersburg.
