It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Vernon Trask on June 25, 2023, at his home in Waterloo in his 88th year. Beloved husband to late Gail Trask (nee Davies) of 50 years. Loving father to Brian (Petra), Keith (Jaye) and Scott (Cindy). Grandfather to 9 grandchildren, Brandon, Danielle, Megan, Alyssa, Jordyn, Hannah, Avery, Hudson and Milo and great grandfather to 8, soon to be 9. Brother to late Raymond (June), late Mervyn (Helen), late Joyce Montgomery (late Gordon), late Allan (Joan), late Lawrence (Joan), Margaret Black (Bert), Shirley Riddell (Donald). Brother-in-law to late Joy McIntosh (late Tom), Alinda Morrison (late Dennis), late Terry and late Gerald (Sandra) Davies. Predeceased by parents Levi Austin and Mary Ann Trask and Fred and Rose Davies. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Bayshore Healthcare, the staff at Groves Memorial Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital, Hygate Seniors Living, and the Emergency Services who cared for Vern.
Vern was overwhelmed by the immense care and compassion that he received from the team at Groves Memorial Hospital; in memory of him, donations may be made to the Groves Memorial Hospital Foundation or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Visitation will be held at Melville United Church, 300 St. Andrews St. West, Fergus, on Thursday, June 29, 2023 from 12:30 pm – 2:00 pm, with a funeral service to immediately follow at 2:00 pm. A private family interment will be held afterwards.
