Vernus Brady Bredeson

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Vernus Brady Bredeson, who departed this life on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at the age of 75. Born in Dalton and raised on the dairy farms of Wisconsin, before the family moving back to Dalton.
A dedicated worker, Vernus spent many years crafting a living as a carpet mill worker at Coronet, contributing to the industry that defines his hometown. Vernus's commitment to his work, coupled with a robust work ethic, made him a cornerstone of his workplace community.
Vernus was a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend. He is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Teresa Bredeson, and their cherished son, Ben and daughter-in-law Kali Bredeson of Kennesaw. Vernus also leaves behind his dear siblings and their spouses: Velinda and Wayne Guinn, Verna and Larry Carnes, Denita and Tom Walters, Denise and Roger Helter, Debra and Rex Frost, and Dusty and Cami Bredeson. He was predeceased by his loving parents, Vernus Bjarne Bredeson and Betty Bredeson and brother, Vernon "Buster" Bredeson.
Family and friends are invited to gather in memory and celebration of Vernus's life on Thursday, January 8, 2026. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Pastor Terry Moore and Pastor Brian Johnson. Following the service, Vernus will be laid to rest at Smith Chapel Cemetery.
The family will receive friends, Wednesday January 7, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. from Julian Peeples Funeral Home - Pleasant Grove Chapel.

Vernus will be remembered for his gentle spirit, unwavering kindness, and the love he bestowed upon those who knew him. While his physical presence may have departed, the warmth of his character will continue to inspire those he leaves behind. Vernus will forever remain in the hearts of his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
