He was preceded in death by his mother, Christeen Overall Stancill; father William Ernest Stancill, sisters; Betty Stancill Pitts, Mary Ellen Stancill Holcomb, and Anna Laura Stancill; and brothers, William David Stancill, and James Lamar Stancill.
Delbert was a member of Fairview Methodist Church.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Connie Louise Ray Stancill; sons and daughters-in-law, Delbert W. Stancill II and Becky Parker Stancill, and Christopher D. Stancill and Jordan McClain; sisters-in-law, Annie Sue Ensley, and Kathryn Carroll; grandchildren, Corey (Megan) Greene, Delayna Stancill, Emma Stancill, Berkleigh McClain, Raelyn McClain, Holly Stancill, Luke Stancill, Avery McClain, and Barrett McClain; and great granddaughter, Hallie Kate Greene. He is also survived by a number of special nieces and nephews.
A memorial service to celebrate Delbert's life will be held Sunday, March 8, 2026, at 2:00pm at Fairview Methodist Church with Rev. Brad Bailey officiating.
