In Loving Memory of Veronica M. Pendergast
Veronica M. Pendergast, 85, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 7, 2026. Born in the Bronx, NY, Veronica brought kindness, steadiness, and quiet strength to every place she called home. She spent 21 years in Lake Peekskill, NY, before settling in Little Egg Harbor, where she built a life filled with faith, friendship, and family for the past 25 years.
Veronica’s faith was at the center of her life. She was a devoted communicant of St. Theresa’s Church in Little Egg Harbor, where she served with great humility as a Eucharistic Minister. She also ministered at St. Junipero Serra Parish in Seaside Heights, always offering her time and compassion to others. As a proud member of the Altar Rosary Society, Veronica found joy in prayer, community, and service. Outside of her church work, she loved traveling, discovering new places, and curling up with a good book—simple pleasures that brought her great happiness.
She was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Helen Hesch Krug, and her brothers, Charles and Edward Krug, who she now joins in eternal rest.
Veronica leaves behind the people she loved most in this world: her devoted husband of 45 years, Jim Pendergast; her son Kenneth Meade (Stacy) of Patterson, NY; her daughter Christine Pearce (Robert) of Leander, TX; and her stepdaughter Jamie Pendergast (Kevin Shook) of Lake Peekskill, NY. She will be forever remembered by her grandchildren Shain Meade (Kim), Skylar Dorman (Stephen), Sean Wolf, and Deirdre Wolf, and her great grandchildren Rory Dorman, Flynn Meade, and Alice Meade, who brought her endless pride and joy.
A gathering will be held from 10-11a followed by a Memoria Mass on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM at St. Theresa Church, 450 Radio Road, Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087. Inurnment will follow immediately at St. Theresa’s Columbarium.
Veronica’s gentle spirit, unwavering faith, and deep love for her family will remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
