Joyce C Mathis

Joyce C. Mathis 89 of West Creek, NJ passed away on Tuesday February 24, 2026. Joyce was a lifetime resident of West Creek. She was a member of West Creek Methodist Church and worked as a CNA at Seacrest Nursing Home as well as being one of the first employees at the Singer sewing store in West Creek.

Joyce loved animals, especially her dogs Lady and Cody. She enjoyed sewing and baking and having coffee every day with her childhood friends Gladys Loveland and Anna Griffin.

Joyce was predeceased by her parents Randall and Mary Catherine Leek, her beloved husband Cecil Mathis, son David Mathis, brother Jim Leek and sister Ellen Driscoll.

She is survived by her loving children John Mathis of Tuckerton, Sandy Robertson of West Creek, Libby Gennaro (Lenny) of Tuckerton, Ann Horstmann (Billy) of Barnegat, Donna Collins (John) of Manahawkin and Maryann Carter (Rick Mooney) of Waretown as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday March 4, 2026 from 2-5pm at Maxwell Funeral Home 160 Mathistown Rd Little Egg Harbor, NJ 08087.
