Veronica Puentes, age 42, of Woodsboro, Texas, passed away on January 9, 2026. She was born on January 7, 1984, in Taft, Texas.
Veronica was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Macario Puentes and Leonor Varela Puentes; her maternal grandparents, Maria Garza and Jose Munoz Fierova; and her uncle, Joseph “Mike” Fierova.
She is survived by her loving parents, David and Sandra Puentes; her sisters, Valerie Puentes, Angela Carrasco, and Andrea Gonzales; her daughter, Chasity Vasquez; and her two grandchildren. She was a devoted aunt to her nieces and nephews: David Puentes-Pena, Alessandra Carrasco, Gaige Carrasco, Joseph Carrasco, Juliana Carrasco, Acelynn Carrasco, Madasyn Carrasco, Penelope Bruns, Andrew Bruns, Eligah Gonzales, Olivia Gonzales, and Noah Gonzales; all of whom, brought her immense joy. She is also survived by her step-grandmother, “Momo” Hope Fierova, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Veronica will be remembered for her love of family, her kind and caring heart, and the special bond she shared with those closest to her. She had a gentle presence and a way of making others feel loved and valued. Her memory will continue to live on through the many lives she touched and the love she gave so freely.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 19, 2026 from 10am-2pm at Charlie Marshall Funeral Home in Aransas Pass. The funeral service will begin at 2pm.
