Veronica Ann Young, 52, of Salem, Missouri formally of Kahoka, Missouri, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2025, at Salem Residential Care in Salem, Missouri.
She was born on July 17, 1973, in Memphis, Missouri, the daughter of Ava Young Carter.
Veronica was a 1991 graduate of Clark County High School and later in life attended Southeast Community College and became a Certified CNA and used that education to care for and take care of others.
Veronica liked to stay busy. She worked at BTR for over 10 years, worked for Walmart stocking shelves, and worked at several local businesses in Kahoka. In 2007 she enlisted in the United States Navy Reserve until 2010. Veronica had to slow down due to health reasons. She enjoyed nature walks, mushrooming, and just being outdoors. She liked watching TV comedy and writing in her journal every day. More than anything she loved her family and many friends and looked forward to family gatherings.
Veronica is survived by her mother Ava Carter of Kahoka, MO, her sons Derrick Davis of Kahoka, MO, Drake (Hannah) Davis of Olympia, WA, Dakota (Virginia) Davis of Hannibal, MO, 6 grandchildren, sister Mira Maggard of Kahoka, MO, many cousins, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Graveside Services for Veronica Ann Young will be held Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Kahoka Cemetery, Kahoka, MO. Visitation with family present will be held at the Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home, Saturday, November 15, 2025, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. According to her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. Memorials in memory of Veronica are suggested to the family and may be left or mailed to Wilson & Triplett Funeral Home 975 East Main St, Kahoka, MO 63445.
