Vesta Lou Howard, a beloved matriarch, passed from this life on Monday, September 29, in Jonesboro. She was born on September 26, 1931, in Arkansas, to the late Bryan and Nettie Parker.
Vesta was a woman of immense grace and compassion, known for her unwavering kindness and endless devotion to her family. As a homemaker and seamstress at the Eli Walker Shirt Factory, Vesta willingly cared for her loved ones and enriched their lives with her talents. Her quilting skills were renowned, and she even earned a ribbon for her exquisite craftsmanship.
A devout woman of faith, Vesta's gentle spirit and strong values touched all who knew her. She never uttered a negative word about anyone and was always a pillar of strength and support. In her role as the family matriarch, she was the glue that held her loved ones together through every joy and trial.
Vesta is survived by her daughter, Melissa Howard; grandsons, Bryan Lorren, Shane Hodge, and Kenny Howard; granddaughters, Mellanie Coffman and Shawna Harris; numerous nephews and nieces, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren.
Vesta was preceded in death by her husband, Noel Howard; parents, Bryan Parker and Nettie Parker; son, Noel "Tooter" Howard, Jr.; daughters, Rosa Sanders and Rhonda Howard; grandchildren, Joshua Lorren, Andy Johns, and Mandy Howard; and great-grandson, Robbie Howard.
A public visitation will be held at Heath Funeral Home on Friday, October 4, 2024, starting at 1:00 pm. A graveside service will follow at Pine Knot Cemetery with Josh Dement officiating.
Vesta Lou Howard will be deeply missed but forever remembered for her radiant spirit, loving heart, and enduring legacy of kindness and love. May she rest in eternal peace.
