Vester Mahan Obituary
Vester is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Anis Marie Mahan (née Mayne); his children, Susan Jones (Brad) and Terry Mahan (Barbara); his grandchildren, Kurtis Mahan (Allison), Brady Jones (Jessica), Haley Kennedy (Grant), and Blake Jones; his great-grandchildren, Jaxon Mahan, Klair Mahan, Oliver Jones, Amelia Jones, Leigha Kennedy, and Sophia Kennedy; and several nieces and nephews.
Vester served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the Boone County School District after a long career. He was a member of Burlington Baptist Church and a former Sunday School teacher. Vester was also a member of the Masonic Lodge and worked as a painter for the Cavalcade of Homes and the Boone County School District. He will be remembered as a man of selfless service and great faith.
Visitation will take place on Friday, February 20, 2026, at Stith Funeral Home, 7500 US Hwy 42, Florence, Kentucky 41042, beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 p.m., with Pastor Josh Schmidt officiating. Burial will follow at Burlington Cemetery in Burlington, Kentucky.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Vester's name are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105; Burlington Baptist Church, 3031 Washington Street, Burlington, Kentucky 41005; or St. Elizabeth Foundation (Hospice), 1 Medical Village Drive, Edgewood, Kentucky 41017.

My fifth grade teacher. I loved him greatly. He was always kind to me. I will miss seeing him around Burlington. Condolences to Mrs. Mahan and family. Jacki ligon

I remember Mr. Mahan from when I had him as a teacher at Conner Jr. High as it was called at the time. He was a very nice man. Sending my sympathy to his family.
