Veva "Janelle" Parson

Veva "Janelle" Parson, 88, of Huntsville, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 11, 2025, in Huntsville. She was born on Monday, August 23, 1937, in Huntsville, the youngest of seven children born to Lewin Alman and Dora Lee Cluck Gilliam.
Janelle met the love of her life, HL Parson, later in life, and at the age of 39 they were married on Sunday, July 3, 1977, in Huntsville, Arkansas. Although they never had children of their own, she cherished her role as an aunt and took great joy in spending time with and lovingly spoiling her nieces and nephews. A member of the Church of Christ, Janelle worked in accounting for many years. She enjoyed collecting antiques and spending time in the garden and was still snapping beans right up until her passing. Janelle was truly a "firecracker" - spirited, outspoken, and always wearing something sparkly. She had a gift for bringing people together, a generous heart, and was always caring for others no matter her own circumstances.
Janelle was preceded in death by her loving husband, HL Parson; her parents, Lewin and Dora Gilliam and her siblings, Louese Gilliam Minor, Harry Gilliam, Shirley Gilliam Phillips, Harley Gilliam, Jessie Gilliam Phillips, and Bill Gilliam. She is also preceded by several nieces and nephews.
She is survived by one sister-in-law, Jerrie Gilliam of Huntsville; two nieces, Kathy Burke and Harriet (Junior) McChristian; two nephews, Ben (JoNelle) Phillips and Micheal Phillips; ten great-nieces, Heather Thomas, Stacy McChristian, Karie Johnson, Kayla Campbell, Megan Weatherington, Sherri Kay Watson, Ashley Phillips, Autumn Hawkins, Charity Phillips, and Roberta Gonzalez; nine great-nephews, Tony Phillips, Jeremiah Burke, Terry Phillips, Craig Phillips, David Cline, John Phillips, Steve Phillips, Mark Phillips and Austin Phillips. She is also survived by one stepson, Ronn Parson; one stepdaughter, Cheryl Wilson; many great-great and great-great-great-nieces and nephews
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM-2:00 PM, Monday, October 20, 2025, at Brashears Funeral Home. Funeral Service will immediately follow at 2:00 PM with Larry Combs officiating. Pallbearers will be John Phillips, Jeremiah Burke, William Phillips, David Cline, Mark Phillips, and Tim Graham.
Services are entrusted to Brashears Funeral Home and Crematory of Huntsville.
