Vickey Jane Bates, age 68, of Decatur, went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 21, 2026.
Vickey was a devoted wife, loving mother, and proud grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her son, Eddie Campbell; parents, Myra and Oakley Fletcher.
She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Ricky Bates; children, Karlos Ater, Selena Campbell, Christopher Behrens, Jack Behrens, and Krys Behrens. Her children were her pride and joy, along with being a devoted grandmother to all her grandchildren. Her heart grew even fuller with the arrival of her great-grandchildren, whom she adored and treasured. Vicky leaves behind a legacy of love, family, and faith that will continue to live in all who loved her.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., on Wednesday, March 25, 2026 in the Chapel of Decatur Funeral Home & Cremation Services with the Rev. Mike Couch officiating. Interment will follow in the Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 12 - 2 p.m., prior to the service.
