Vickey Joyce Wright

Vickey Joyce Wright, 77, passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center with her loving family by her side.  

She was born in Kennett Missouri on May 10, 1947 to the late Amos and Cora Lutrell Rudd. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jimmy Carl Wright; son, Jimmy David Wright; and her siblings, Maril Lee Rudd, Carrie Etla Rudd Ford, Willie Rudd, and Shirley Jaco.  

Vickey married the love of her life, Jimmy, and was the loving mother of 6 children. She was a loving and caring mother and faithful wife. Vickey will be remembered as a strong and resilient woman who had an unparalleled sense of humor and a wit like no other. She leaves many happy memories to be cherished by all who knew and loved her.  

She is survived by her children, Regina Norris (Don), Rhonda Akers (Richard), Jimmy Wayne Wright (Jeannie), Vickey Lynn Hale (Justin), and Carl Matthew Wright; 12 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews. 

 Family and friends will gather for visitation from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2025 at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Shirley and Dr. Paul Brintley officiating. Burial will follow at Armstrong Cemetery.
